May 4, 2026 Mr. Hamid Azam, Superintendent of Central Jail Haripur, officially relinquished his charge. Having served at the institution for a long tenure, he implemented several concrete measures during his service to improve the prison system and enhance prisoner welfare. On this occasion, the jail staff arranged a farewell ceremony in his honor, where officers and personnel heavily praised his professional expertise and leadership skills.
Meanwhile, Mr. Najam Hussain Abbasi formally assumed his responsibilities as the new Superintendent of Central Jail Haripur. Upon his arrival at the prison, a smart contingent of police presented him with a traditional salute. Senior officers of the jail administration and staff gave him a warm reception and presented him bouquets.
Mr. Najam Hussain Abbasi is counted among the most capable, dutiful, and experienced officers of the prison department, having previously held key positions in various prisons across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He also served as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) at the Inspector General of Prisons (IG Office) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar, where his performance was consistently valued and appreciated.
At the conclusion of the event, the jail staff expressed their best wishes for the departing officer and assured their full cooperation to the new Superintendent, Mr. Najam Hussain Abbasi, for the further improvement of the institution.
